Hi, I’d like to welcome you to ourĀ newest adventure.
Some of you may know us from the days of Neons and FWD mania.
Each of us pioneers in neon performance and product development. We’ve helped various manufacturers build and test parts from Modern Performance Racing Products, to Be Cool Radiators, and helped bring to market innovative short shifter designs. I’m the Drag Racer, and Joe is the show guy, but don’t let that fool you. We are both about power, performance and making a statement with our vehicles.
Joe’s Neon a 95 Sport became a multi-show winning car that had the balls to back up the badges (Turbo Badges that is).
The problem with lack of displacement, is that you need to make it up some how, and Joe went turbo (he actually bought my kit, refurbished it). That itself is a recipe for problems and extensive maintenance, not that we shy away from high maintenance projects in the least, it just became apparent that the Neon had reached its limits.
This was further proven when Joe had a meltdown (literally). He toasted a few pistons and decided enough’s enough, and sold off the car. It was a sad day.
Me, well.. I’ve owned 5 Ne0ns in the last 11 years. Two of them turbo’d and all of them modified. My 98 neon has been sitting for the last two years. I spent the better part of 3 years rebuilding my 98 Sport coupe with a 2.4L engine with SRT internals and turbo. I got it all together and running (pretty well I might add) only to start smoking. I was already tired of the car, and this took the wind completely out of my sails. It’s soon to be in the process of parting out (I didn’t want to hamper Joe’s sell off.) So look for some parts listed, there will be some good ones including various gauges, KONI struts etc. This stuff will go cheap cause I want it outta here.
Once my parts sell, i’ll be looking for a 71-72 A Body.
The new projects…
Joe’s new wife (he got recently married) bought him a new project. Something that he could use the skills he had developed from working on the Neon to make somethingof an old tired classic. Ashlynn’s got great taste and kept it Mopar. A 1976 Duster to be exact.
Once Joe got his new project, I knew I was ready to get back into something, and get back into my roots. My project will hopefully be a 1972 and will include some form of small block power. =)
I won’t go into detail here about the projects status, but be sure to stay tuned to our site for upcoming build updates and other reviews and some hijinks thrown in for good measure.
See you on the track (some day)
